Light microscopy identification notes

Valve View: Centric with a hyaline area in the centre of the cell. Irregular fasciculation. Between rows of areolae, visible hyalines are present, becoming more distinct towards the edge of the valve. Areolae have cribra which may be visible with a light microscope. 2 rings of labiate processes on valve mantle. Lower ring of processes should be visible at the lower valve margin.
